Emergency Pet Care for CSO Clients
Each year, nonprofit community behavioral health agency Clinical & Support Options (CSO) encounters clients who choose to sacrifice their own inpatient treatment, as they have no reliable care available for their beloved pet(s). The "Emergency Pet Care for CSO Clients" program would provide funding for boarding and limited veterinary care so that clients can engage in treatment with the peace of mind that comes with knowing their pets are in good hands.
Your donation to this fund would remove pet care-related barriers to treatment for up to 20 CSO clients. Through case management, companion animal care would be afforded to clients to accommodate critical hospitalization, detox, emergency shelter or residential care. Program services would include:
- VETERINARY ASSESSMENT — To assure pets are up to date on vaccinations and demonstrate general health; to assess temperament and make boarding/fostering recommendations.
- BOARDING & KENNELING — Local, reputable kennels will provide cats and dogs with safe environments and ample nutrition.
- FOSTERING — Screened and trained volunteers will foster certain client pets, especially those with special or long-term needs or physical/medical requirements.
